Icheon to Host National Badminton Tournament Alongside Rice Culture Festival
Icheon, South Korea – The 14th King’s Table Icheon Rice Cup National Badminton Competition is set to take place October 25-26 at the Icheon Bubal Sports Complex (Daekyo stadium) and Icheon Badminton Stadium. The annual event, one of the largest badminton tournaments in the country, will coincide with the Icheon Rice Culture Festival, offering participants a unique blend of athletic competition and local cultural experience.
Co-hosted by the Gyeongin Ilbo newspaper and the Icheon Badminton association, with sponsorship from the Icheon City government and Icheon City Sports Association, the competition anticipates approximately 1,800 players across 900 teams. Registration is open on a frist-come, first-served basis, categorized by age and gender, and closes september 19. The tournament welcomes both nationwide participants in their 20s and 60s, as well as regional groups affiliated with the Icheon city Association.
This year, the Sibae Deminon Association will provide all participants with a complimentary Icheon rice lunch and a 3kg souvenir bag of Icheon rice, promoting both health and recognition for the region’s renowned rice culture.”We expect that the nation’s best athletes will be able to show their skills,” stated Nam Ki-hwan, Chairman of the Icheon Badminton Association.Interested players can register through the National Badminton Contest website (http://www.badmintongame.co.kr) or the ‘Up’ mobile application.
