South Zone Badminton Championships 2025 in Hyderabad

Heartfulness Gopichand Badminton Academy​ too Host prestigious Inter State Championships

Hyderabad: The 79th yonex-Sunrise South​ Zone Inter ‍State Badminton​ Championships 2025 will ⁢be held at the Heartfulness Gopichand Badminton Academy, located at Kanha Shanti Vanam, from September 2nd to 5th. The tournament will see approximately 250 top badminton players competing from Andaman ⁤and Nicobar Islands, Andhra pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana.

The championships ⁤officially commenced today with an⁣ inauguration ceremony attended by Shri Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Hon’ble Minister for IT, government of Telangana and President of the badminton Association ‍of Telangana (BAT); Shri Pullela Gopichand, General Secretary of BAT and National Chief Coach of Badminton; and Shri K. Shankaraiah,MLA,Shadnagar.

Shri Duddilla Sridhar Babu ⁢highlighted the Academy as an ideal venue, praising both its excellent⁣ infrastructure and the serene​ environment conducive ‍to sportsmanship,​ fostering introspection⁣ and inner guidance for athletes.

Shri Pullela Gopichand emphasized ⁣the Academy’s holistic approach, stating, “The academy not ⁣only trains sportsman‍ towards becoming ace badminton champions, but at ​the core of it is consciousness which is what helps them become well-rounded sportsmen. We hope that the 79th edition of the Inter State ‍Badminton Championships brings out the best in each player while they blossom⁤ with ‍self-awareness, a deeper faith and ‌camaraderie.”

Revered Daaji, Guide of ‌Heartfulness and President of Shri Ram Chandra⁣ Mission, expressed delight in hosting the event, underscoring the importance of‍ integrating sports into education and lifestyle.He noted the vocational ‍potential of sports and‌ the added‍ benefit of combining athletic training with meditation, enhancing an athlete’s performance both on and off the court, and equipping them ​to navigate challenges in ⁤both the game and life.

Team prize distribution is scheduled for September ⁢3rd,⁣ with the grand finale and prize distribution ceremony ⁤taking place on September 5th. The finale will be attended by Shri Jayesh⁢ Ranjan, IAS, Special Chief Secretary of Telangana;‌ Smt. Soni Bala Devi, IFS, VC & MD of the Sports⁢ Authority ​of Telangana; ⁢Shri Pullela ⁢Gopichand, General Secretary‌ of BAT, National Chief Coach of Badminton; and officials from the Badminton Association of Telangana.
