Santiago Metro Expansion to Connect Key Commuter Hubs by 2033
Santiago, Chile – A phased expansion of teh Santiago Metro system will bring new connections to several key areas of the capital city, culminating in the opening of the final stage in 2033. The ambitious project, divided into three stages, aims to improve public transportation access for residents of La Pintana, Puente Alto, and other surrounding communities.The first stage, slated for completion in 2030, will focus on extending Line 4A, connecting Santa Rosa with areas including La Granja and San Ramón. Subsequent phases, opening in 2032 and 2033, will integrate Lines 2, 3, 7, and 4, adding stations such as Cal y Canto Bridge (recoleta), Santa Lucía (Santiago), and Puente Alto Plaza. The expansion is expected to substantially reduce commute times and alleviate congestion on existing lines.
Stage 1 – Opening 2030 will include:

Santa Rosa Av. With Esperanza, Padre Hurtado Hospital (La Granja/san Ramón)
Santa Rosa Av. With Av. Observatory (La pintana)

Stage 2 – Opening 2032 will include:
Cal y Canto Bridge (Recoleta) – Combination Lines 2, 3 and 7
Santa Lucía (Santiago) – Combination Line 1
Matta (santiago) – Combination Line 3
Santa Rosa Av. With Ñuble (Santiago)
Stage 3 – Opening 2033 will include:
Santa Rosa Av. With Av. Eyzaguirre (La Pintana/Puente Alto)
Sergeant Menadier with Av. Juanita (Puente Alto)
Sergeant Menadier with Av. Libertador Army (Puente Alto)
