florent Pagny Reveals Recurring Cancer, Remains Optimistic About Future
Paris, France – French singer Florent Pagny has disclosed experiencing two recurrences of cancer since his initial diagnosis, but remains positive and is continuing regular medical monitoring. The artist shared the update while discussing his health and career, emphasizing that despite the challenges, he is feeling well and enjoying a resurgence in his voice and concert ticket sales.
Pagny first spoke of a recurrence in 2023 with Audrey Crespo-Mara, initially attributing it to pausing immunotherapy treatment. He has as resumed the treatment, but another recurrence followed.Despite these setbacks, Pagny reports that recent quarterly check-ups have been positive. “There, that’s fine. If, two and a half years later, I’m talking to you as I talk to you and I have bananas […]that’s okay,” he said with a smile. He acknowledges ongoing monitoring will be necessary for the next decade, stating, “It’s not bronchitis. Controls, I will still have them for a good ten years.”
The singer also highlighted positive changes in his life since disclosing his illness. He credits quitting smoking with a noticeable enhancement in his vocal range, noting, “I have a voice that took a half-one. I even came back to my 40th birthday.” Demand for tickets to his concerts has also surged, with his 2026 tour selling out in just four weeks,a stark contrast to the year-long timeframe for previous tours. Pagny jokingly refers to this as “The shot of the undead,” acknowledging public eagerness to see him perform. He was quick to add, “I never had this feeling that I died of.”
