Cairo, Egypt – Egyptian actress Mai Ezz El-Din made a rare television appearance Friday, August 29, 2025, opening up about her relationship with social media, personal grief, and past conflicts during an interview on the “Guest” program hosted by journalist Moataz Al-Demerdash. The appearance marked her first on a talk show in approximately six to seven years.
The interview comes as Ezz El-Din navigates a period of both professional success and personal loss, offering a glimpse into the life of one of Egypt’s most recognizable performers. ezz El-Din described a fluctuating relationship with social media platforms. Initially checking the platforms monthly, she admitted to periods of intense engagement, responding to interactions as frequently as every fifteen minutes.However, she stated that in the last two to three months, she felt no compulsion to actively participate, finding a recent photograph she posted generated significant audience response.
“I went with many needs, so strong that I did not work,” Ezz El-Din shared, hinting at personal struggles that impacted her ability to focus.
The actress respectfully declined to delve deeply into the recent loss of her mother, acknowledging the enduring pain of such a bereavement. “Ther is no person who can go beyond the departure of his family,” she stated, emphasizing the profound and lasting impact of losing a parent.
ezz El-Din also addressed a past disagreement with the North Coast region of Egypt, stating that a previous visit was undertaken despite a personal aversion.”I went to the coast in my sincere dictionary imposed I am enemies,” she explained,suggesting a situation where professional obligations outweighed personal feelings.
Most recently, Mai Ezz El-Din starred in the 2025 Ramadan series “My Heart and Key,” alongside Aser Yassin. The series,directed by Tamer Mohsen,also featured Ashraf Abdel Baqi,Aida riyad,Sama Ibrahim,and Ahmed Khaled Saleh,and proved to be a popular offering during the holy month.
