A101 to Launch Affordable Volta EV2 Electric Car in Turkey Next Week
Istanbul, Turkey – Turkish discount retailer A101 will begin offering the new Volta EV2 electric car starting next week, positioning it as a budget-pleasant option for urban commuters. The announcement signals a meaningful step in making electric vehicles more accessible to a wider consumer base in Turkey.
The Volta EV2, designed with city driving in mind, boasts a range of 159 kilometers (approximately 99 miles) on a full charge. The two-seater vehicle features LED headlights, front and rear disc brakes, and a combined braking system (CBS) for enhanced safety, distributing brake force evenly during emergency stops. Standard safety features include front and rear seatbelts and a windshield wiper washing system.
Beyond basic safety, the EV2 includes a differential system for easier maneuverability, a heating/defrosting system, and a USB port for charging mobile devices.The vehicle is equipped with a smart switch for easy access and can reach a top speed of 60 kilometers per hour (approximately 37 mph). The battery requires approximately 8 hours for a full charge.
A101 previously offered the Volta EV1, launching it on august 28th with a price tag of 289,990 Turkish Lira (approximately $14,500 USD as of today’s exchange rate). The EV2 will also be available through installment plans, including a 6-installment option with electric car credit cards.Delivery of the vehicle will be handled through authorized Volta service centers across Turkey, with an estimated delivery timeframe of 30 working days.
The launch of the EV2 comes as Turkey increasingly focuses on sustainable transportation solutions. While details on the EV2’s pricing have not yet been released, the success of the EV1 demonstrates a clear demand for affordable electric vehicles within the Turkish market. A101’s strategy of leveraging its extensive retail network to distribute the Volta EV2 is expected to further accelerate the adoption of electric mobility in the country.
