New ⁤Delhi – The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended Justice Shree Chandrashekhar, currently a judge ​of⁢ the Bombay High ⁤Court, for appointment as the Chief Justice of the​ same court. The decision,made on ‌August 25,2025,marks a critically important step ​in the judicial leadership of ⁣one⁣ of India’s key high courts.

Background and Seniority

Born in May 1965, Justice Chandrashekhar is⁣ the ⁤most​ senior judge at the ​Bombay High Court following ⁣the⁣ impending retirement of current Chief justice ⁣Alok Aradhe in⁢ April of ​next year. His extensive‌ legal⁣ background and experience⁤ were key factors in the Collegium’s decision.
