Washington, D.C. – Despite persistent and debunked rumors of marital trouble, Barack and Michelle Obama continue to be a subject of public interest. The couple married in 1992 and raised two daughters, Malia, 27, and Sasha, 24.
Michelle Obama recently discussed the challenges of parenting Sasha, revealing her daughter’s independent personality on a recent episode of her podcast, “IMO With Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson.” She contrasted Sasha’s demeanor with that of her older sister, Malia.
“Sasha is like a cat. She’s like, ‘Don’t touch me, don’t pet me. I’m not pleasing you. you come to me, you know?’ And Barack’s like, well, she’s challenging. I was like, no, the first one was a pleaser,” michelle Obama shared on the podcast.
Earlier in the episode, Michelle Obama reflected on the differing approaches her daughters take in interacting with others.
“I’d say this to Barack, when it comes to, you know, [our] oldest, Malia, she is going to figure out who you are, what do you like and let’s discuss it,” she explained.
Michelle Obama emphasized the need for adaptability in parenting, stating that parents must be “chameleons” and adjust to each child’s unique personality. The podcast episode,co-hosted with her brother Craig Robinson, offered a personal glimpse into the family dynamics of the former First Family.
