His professional success is mirrored by a fulfilling personal life.Rosák has been married to Jiřina (69) for 48 years. The couple’s marriage began unconventionally, driven by financial necessity. “We got married for money, that’s true. That was the year when I turned thirty, and then the newlywed loan was only available to those thirty and over. So we had to get married. Because of the loan. We had known each other for two months,” Rosák revealed on the program *7 Falls of Honza Dědek*. He also recounted a disastrous first date, admitting, “Our first date was unsuccessful. Catastrophic. When we saw each other, it was clear. The first date we arranged on the radio. I was tired after a night shift, I went home and fell asleep. I missed it, I was completely distraught, I cried from anger. She said she wasn’t there.”
Despite the rocky start, Rosák praises the longevity of their marriage, attributing it to shared humor and professional collaboration. Jiřina is a screenwriter who penned scripts for his programs. When asked about the secret to a happy marriage, Rosák responded: “It is always so fragile and everyone experiences it differently… But I think it’s clear. Basically, as soon as we met, we both felt an instant connection. Just boom and boom.We fell in love. And then we knew we fit together. Fortunately, a person observes how many families and friends…” he shared in an interview with denik.cz.
The couple enjoys shared interests, including theatre and movies. Rosák is a keen tennis player, often playing with Petr Janda, but his wife prefers to watch. “Sometimes she played, but she said she would ruin it. I would have to play with her left hand for her, and I wouldn’t enjoy it,” he explained. he affectionately describes his wife as “a treasure,” jokingly adding, “There’s chemistry – Lexaurin, Xanax… Perfect.” Jan and Jiřina Rosák have two daughters, Zuzana and Maria, and three grandchildren – Lilian, Ryan, and Honza – who bring them great joy.
