Sofia Vergara Confronts Howard Stern Over Disrespectful Comments in Past Interview
A resurfaced interview between actress Sofia Vergara and radio host howard Stern is drawing criticism due to Stern’s inappropriate line of questioning. The conversation, originally taking place some time ago, recently gained attention as discussions arose regarding Stern’s SiriusXM show perhaps nearing a $500 million contract renewal, facing possible complications.
The exchange began with Stern initially laughing at Vergara’s mention of her son, Manolo, who was 19 at the time and starring in the Griselda series. He then asked if she had been breastfeeding him. when Vergara confirmed that Manolo, now 33, had been breastfed, Stern responded with a comment about it being “incredible.”
Vergara expressed her annoyance, stating, “Even very convincing, I was nineteen.” Stern then joked about Manolo needing “a lot of milk,” prompting Vergara to call the remarks “very disrespectful.”
stern continued with suggestive comments, saying,”Hey,I would respect [her]. I respect head-to-toe. That kid was probably a real ruby from so much milk. I would have wanted to taste it. If you don’t want to go on a date with me, at least feed me.”
Vergara attempted to end the conversation, saying, “Now I am not waiting,” but Stern responded with further inappropriate remarks, suggesting the situation could be “easily arranged.”
The comments sparked outrage online, with viewers flooding the comment section to express their disgust with Stern’s behavior. One commenter noted, “Never in his life has been seen in a single interview where he would not behave nasty with the woman who visited his show.” Others described his behavior as “creepy” and “repulsive,” with one user calling him “a real pig” and another labeling him “the worst of all.”
Despite the uncomfortable exchange,Vergara appeared on Stern’s show again in 2015 while promoting her film Hot Pursuit.
Attempts by Page Six to obtain comments from both Stern, 71, and Vergara, 54, were unsuccessful. Some speculate that the resurfacing of the interview was fueled by stern’s team in an effort to boost ratings amid contract negotiations for his show.
