## Downtown Milwaukee Welcomes New Dog Park Under I-794 Freeway
Milwaukee has officially opened its first downtown dog park, located under the I-794 freeway at 103 W. Clybourn St. The park opened on Thursday morning following a Wednesday afternoon ceremony and “Yappy Hour” attended by local dignitaries.[[1]]
The 23,000-square-foot dog park features fenced areas for small and large dogs, open turf space, a planter, water stations, and benches. It is the result of a collaborative effort between BID #21 and BID #2, along with support from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, Milwaukee County, the City of Milwaukee, fromm Family Foods, the Milwaukee Admirals, Berghammer Construction, WE Energies, BMO, veolia, Off Leash K9 Training, and numerous individual contributors. The park aims to utilize previously underused space beneath the freeway, providing a valuable amenity for downtown residents and their canine companions. [[3]]
