Martín de Francisco: ‘What a Shame With You’ Stand-Up Show Details

Bogotá, Colombia – August 14, 2024 – colombian actor, journalist, and sports commentator Martín de Francisco debuted his new one-man show, ‘What Shame With You,’ tonight at the Chapinero Free Theater in Bogotá. The performance, scheduled for weekly Thursdays at 8 pm, blends personal anecdotes, political commentary, and a unique perspective on football.

De Francisco is widely recognized for his work in Colombian television and radio, most notably as co-host of the popular 1993 program ‘La Tele,’ alongside Santiago Moure. The show, known for its satirical and irreverent humor, ran for two years and remains a cultural touchstone for many Colombians. More recently, in 2017, he co-hosted ‘LETAL’ with Moure, continuing their tradition of sharp wit and engaging interviews.

Born on September 22,1966,in Zarzal,Valle del Cauca,Martín de Francisco is the brother of prominent actress and television presenter Margarita Rosa de Francisco. He attended Colegio San José in Cali during his formative years, where he first displayed an interest in performing arts and journalism.

‘What Shame With You’ promises a candid exploration of life’s challenges,offering “advice,suggestions and reflections” to audiences,according to a statement from the Free Theater.The show also incorporates De Francisco’s passion for football, examining its intersection with Colombian politics. While initial attempts to fully integrate this element proved challenging,De Francisco has opted to retain it as a core component of the performance.

Upcoming performances are scheduled for August 21, 28, and September 4, 11, 18, and 25. Tickets, priced at 30,000 Colombian pesos, are available for purchase at the Chapinero Free Theater box office and online at www.teatrolibre.com.
