Fez-Meknes Region Showcases Digital Investment Opportunities for Diaspora

Morocco streamlines services for Diaspora Investors in Fez-Meknès Region

Fez-Meknès, Morocco – In a move designed to bolster investment and strengthen ties with it’s global citizens, teh Fez-Meknès region of Morocco unveiled a suite of digital tools and initiatives aimed at simplifying administrative processes for Moroccans living abroad (MREs) this past Sunday. The event, held in partnership with the Regional investment Council (CRI), showcased the region’s economic potential and commitment to modernization.

The initiative, themed “Digitalization: Strengthening Local Services for Moroccans Around the World,” underscores King Mohammed VI’s focus on supporting the diaspora community.It aligns with Morocco’s broader Digital strategy 2030, prioritizing the digitization of public administration to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accessibility.

“Digital change is an integrated project aimed at establishing a relationship of trust between citizens and administration,” stated Abdelghani Sabbar, the region’s wali, highlighting the importance of recently adopted personal data protection legislation and interconnected systems designed to streamline procedures.

Key Digital Resources Now Available to MREs:

the event introduced several online platforms designed to facilitate remote access to essential public services:

CRI Invest: A platform for online submission, tracking, and approval of investment projects.
Rokhas.ma: Streamlines the process of obtaining municipal authorizations.
Watiqa.ma: Enables remote requests and delivery of civil status documents.
Ancfcc.gov.ma: Provides access to property ownership certificates and cadastral plans.
* tgr.gov.ma: Facilitates procedures related to the General Treasury of the Kingdom.

These tools aim to remove customary barriers to investment,such as travel requirements and bureaucratic delays,allowing MREs to more easily initiate and realize their projects.

Ahmed Laraki, an MRE who attended the event, praised the regional project bank as a particularly valuable resource for diaspora investors, offering strategic guidance for project growth.

The event also featured direct engagement opportunities, with MREs able to connect with representatives from various institutions at dedicated stands. This direct access fostered a closer relationship between the diaspora and their homeland,reinforcing the region’s commitment to economic growth and administrative innovation.

Fez-Meknès is actively positioning itself as an attractive investment destination, prioritizing both economic chance and a modernized, accessible administrative experience for Moroccans living abroad.
