Facebook Pixel and Instagram Embed Code Detected in Data Breach

London, UK – August 8, 2025 – A significant data breach has exposed code snippets commonly used for website tracking and social media integration, specifically Facebook Pixel and Instagram embed code. The compromised data, discovered earlier today, raises concerns about potential vulnerabilities in websites utilizing these scripts and the privacy of user data collected through them.

The exposed code, detailed in a security report, includes the following:

<script>!function(f,b,e,v,n,t,s)&{if(f.fbq)return;n=f.fbq=function(){n.callMethod?n.callMethod.apply(n,arguments):n.queue.push(arguments)};if(!f._fbq)f._fbq=n;n.push=n;n.loaded=!0;n.version='2.0';n.queue=[];t=b.createElement(e);t.async=!0;t.src='https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/fbevents.js';b.getElementsByTagName(e)[0].parentNode.insertBefore(t,b.getElementsByTagName(e)[0]);}(window, document,'script');fbq('init', 'YOUR_PIXEL_ID');fbq('track', 'PageView');</script>
<script async src="//www.instagram.com/embed.js"></script>

While the specific source of the breach remains under investigation by cybersecurity firm,Cygnus Security,initial analysis suggests the data originated from a compromised server belonging to a third-party marketing analytics provider,DataFlow Solutions,based in Wilmington,Delaware. DataFlow Solutions provides tracking and analytics services to over 3,000 businesses, primarily small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the retail and e-commerce sectors.
