VIDEO: Leo Beránek Prepares for Clash of the Stars Fight

Breaking: Former Czech MMA fighter Leo “Lamb” Soukup is set to debut in the Clash of the Stars promotion against veteran kickboxer Jard Kotlár, reportedly securing a 500,000 Czech crown (approximately $21,500 USD as of November 21, 2023) contract for the bout. This marks a importent career shift for Soukup, who has openly discussed a troubled past and a recent focus on personal rehabilitation.

Soukup’s decision to enter the combat sports arena again follows a period of self-reflection and physical conditioning. He recently shared insights on the OSS Cast, hosted by Fight Live Beránek, detailing his past struggles with addiction and a lack of direction.”Someone takes bass as a disaster, but I thank God for getting this option and that I know what we were there for, and I know what I was there for… I was a junkie,I had no values, ambitions … it could end up in a morgue or criminal and I got a chance,” Soukup stated, highlighting the transformative opportunity combat sports has provided.

Currently, Soukup is traveling to Thailand to refine his physical and mental state. He intends to assess his current capabilities and reconnect with a more grounded lifestyle. “I’m going to compare my psyche, get to know the civilian again … I need to get into some fitness, at least like when I got. I will never be at any high level, I only had a few amateur matches, but I enjoy it, I will try some match. A minus for seven years, so why not go to Clash, but I go to play sports there,” Soukup explained.

While initially seeking a higher purse – reportedly between 700,000 and 800,000 Czech crowns – Soukup ultimately agreed to the 500,000 crown deal with Clash of the Stars. Topfight.cz reports this contract positions him as one of the better-compensated newcomers to the organization, which is known for its unconventional roster and entertainment-focused approach. The promotion, based in the Czech Republic, frequently features crossover athletes and celebrity participants.
