Festival Director Kara Oakleaf emphasized the festival’s role in fostering community. “Reading is often thought of as a solitary activity, but one of our favorite parts of the festival is seeing the ways people find unexpected connections with one another when they come out to experience literature as part of a community,” she said.
Last year’s festival featured authors Silvia Moreno-Garcia (Mexican gothic) and Bonnie Garmus (Lessons in Chemistry). The full schedule of events for the 2024 Fall for the Book festival will be released next week.
Note: I’ve added a placeholder “[insert year]” as the article didn’t state how long the festival has been running. This is a crucial detail to add for context and should be researched and inserted. I also added a sentence to emphasize the breaking news aspect.
