Love Island finalist Yasmin Pettet has shared the devastating news that her cherished cat, Miaow Miaow, has passed away. The 24-year-old reality star revealed her 11-year-old feline friend died from cancer while she was still competing in the villa.

During her time on the popular dating show, Yasmin frequently spoke with affection about Miaow Miaow. She shared on Instagram that she had a persistent “gut feeling something was off” while filming. Upon her exit from the villa, she learned from her sister that Miaow Miaow had been diagnosed with cancer and had died during her absence.
In a heartfelt post, Yasmin expressed her pain: “RIP to my beautiful baby girl, you were so loved and will always be in my soul.”

Yasmin, who secured third place with her partner Jamie Rhodes, 26, also thanked fans for their support throughout her Love Island journey. “My love island journey has been crazy to say the least but I really wouldn’t have been able to do it without my Jamie, Toni and Shakira,”
she stated, adding her gratitude for the experience.
Jamie, who described Yasmin as having “black cat energy,” praised her performance, writing, “Absolutely smashed it, wouldn’t want to do the journey with anyone else.”
