Olivia Plath, 26, has opened up to her sister, lydia Grace Meggs, 22, about the challenges and evolving dynamics within her marriage to Ethan Plath, 25. During a recent episode of TLC’s “Welcome to Plathville,” Lydia posed a question to Olivia: “What if you meet somebody and you were a different person when you met them, but you’ve fully changed, and you’re kind of going in opposite directions, but you’re together with them?” This prompted a candid discussion about personal growth and compatibility within a long-term relationship.
Ethan Plath also expressed concern for his sister Lydia’s fiancé, Zac Wyse, 24, stating, “Now you do no,” and confessing, “I’m just being hard on Zac because I think that you’re just amazing and nobody really ever would be good enough for you.” This sentiment revealed Ethan’s protective feelings towards Lydia and his high standards for her partner.
The eldest Plath sibling admitted that hearing Lydia describe feeling a distance between them “stings a little bit.” Ethan further shared that while he believes it’s “not my place” to advise Lydia against a rapid marriage, he wanted to ensure she was proceeding with caution and careful consideration.
Lydia shared in a confessional, “I’ve seen him protect [our sister] Moriah at times, and I knew he and Moriah were really close. I just always wanted that for myself, and I feel like I probably got that today,” adding, “Not that he has anything to protect me from, but just the fact that he’s showing he cares.”
Throughout the current season, Ethan has voiced his reservations about the speed of Zac and Lydia’s relationship. The couple officially announced their engagement in December 2023,and the proposal will be featured in an upcoming episode of “Welcome to Plathville.”
Lydia and Zac exchanged vows on February 3, 2024, in a ceremony held on the Plath family farm in Cairo, Georgia, attended by family and friends, including Ethan. The wedding was officiated by a local pastor, Reverend Billy Davis.
