The Los Angeles Kings have secured a key piece of their young core,re-signing forward Laferriere to a new contract. The deal comes after Laferriere completed the final year of his entry-level contract, making him an unrestricted free agent.

The 23-year-old forward enjoyed a productive second season in the National Hockey League (NHL), notching 19 goals and accumulating 42 points in 77 games. Laferriere established himself as a reliable offensive threat, frequently playing right wing alongside center Quinton Byfield and winger Kevin Fiala, both integral parts of the Kings’ developing nucleus.

Originally selected by the Kings in the third round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, laferriere has amassed 31 goals and 65 points across 158 career NHL games.

This contract resolution addresses a important priority for Kings General Manager Ken Holland during the offseason. Holland has previously expressed his desire to negotiate a long-term agreement with forward adrian Kempe, who is entering the final year of his current contract in the 2025-26 season.
