Cincinnati Assault: Ohio to Provide Law Enforcement Support

Ohio Governor Mike dewine is deploying the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) to assist Cincinnati authorities wiht traffic enforcement and aviation support in response to recent violence. The OSHP’s presence aims to free up local officers to focus on investigating other crimes, while the aviation unit will support efforts to reduce violent crime, search for suspects, and mitigate vehicle pursuits.Governor DeWine stated that Ohio offers a range of law enforcement support services that can be provided to local authorities when they require additional assistance, noting that similar deployments in other cities have proven effective.

In addition to traffic enforcement and aviation support, Governor DeWine has offered further resources to Cincinnati if needed. These include assistance from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction and the Ohio Department of Youth Services to locate individuals violating post-release control or parole conditions. The ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center can provide evidence analysis and intelligence gathering, and the Ohio Investigative Unit can conduct targeted enforcement on liquor establishments associated with illegal sales, drug trafficking, and prostitution.
