Buitenplaats Hofstede: Nieuw Landgoed Herleeft in Rijswijk

Early visitors are already exploring the grounds.

Keys Handed Over for New Residences

The Buitenplaats Hofstede development, featuring 23 family homes, has reached a meaningful milestone with the initial handover of keys to buyers. The project encompasses a variety of housing types, including semi-detached villas, forest homes, detached villas, and four farmhouse-style residences situated on the former farmstead’s footprint. All of the family homes have now been delivered to their new occupants.

Rijswijk residents Lead the Way in Landhuis occupancy

The Landhuis at Buitenplaats Hofstede, designed to be a distinguished residence, is positioned at the head of a pond and comprises sixteen three-room apartments. According to real estate agent Esther Olsthoorn, one penthouse and one terrace apartment remain available in the Landhuis. Notably, over half of the prospective residents for the Landhuis hail from Rijswijk, with a significant portion being individuals aged fifty and older, and also seniors. This influx is attributed to the limited availability of suitable housing for this demographic in the immediate vicinity. The move of these residents into the Landhuis is expected to free up larger family homes, which are in demand among younger families, thereby facilitating further residential transitions within the area.

Enhanced Green Spaces for Public Enjoyment

Rijswijk is set to experience substantial investment in its natural environments over the coming years. Previously, Hofstede was a private estate, which presented limitations for the creation of walking routes. The transition to a publicly accessible Hofstede will establish a continuous green walking area. A recommended route for visitors is the ‘Landgoederen Wandeling Rijswijk,’ detailed on www.geschiedenisvanZuidHolland. along with this, Rijswijk boasts three other significant green spaces: the rijswijkse Bos, the Elsenburgerbos, and the Wilhelminapark.
