Ray J Claims He’s Not Brandy’s Brother Anymore

Ray J has declared he is no longer Brandy‘s brother, a sentiment he reiterated despite expressing gratitude for her past support.

The artist, whose full name is William Ray Norwood Jr., made the surprising statements during an interview where he elaborated on a “new phase of life.” He explained this transition involves outgrowing past relationships, citing the Nas lyric, “a love changes, a thug changes, and best friends become strangers.” Ray J stated that as people grow, they can grow apart, and sometimes attempts to recapture past connections are futile, especially when treated as if the past is still present.

Adding to the unusual declarations, Ray J claimed he has been excluded from family events. He specifically mentioned being disinvited, along with his daughter Melody Love norwood, from a Disney premiere featuring Brandy. The reason given, according to Ray J, was that the event was designated as “18 and over,” despite his daughter’s presence.

Despite these assertions, Ray J also took a moment to acknowledge Brandy’s importent role in launching his career. He credited her and their mother for providing him with opportunities, taking him on tour, and intervening when he was facing difficulties, actions he described as life-saving.

However, immediately following this expression of appreciation, Ray J doubled down on his earlier statement about no longer considering himself Brandy’s brother. He expressed surprise at his own words but affirmed that he meant them.
