A serious road traffic collision involving a motorcycle has led to the closure of a section of the N20 Limerick to Cork road this Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred in Ballyfookoon, between Croom and Patrickswell, shortly before 1 a.m. The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and was transported to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.
The N20 remains closed between the N21 and O’Rourke’s Cross as Garda Forensic Collision investigators conduct a technical examination. local diversions are in place, and motorists have reported chaotic traffic conditions with notable delays.
Eight fire appliances from Limerick city, Rathkeale, and Kilmallock stations responded to the emergency. Firefighters from Kilmallock and Rathkeale are still at the scene.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and requesting that any road users with relevant camera footage,including dash-cam recordings from the time of the incident,make it available to investigators.
