Tragedy struck the Bogotá Marathon Media Competition today as a participant in the 10-kilometer race, Pedro Enrique Rodríguez Suárez, collapsed approximately 200 meters from the finish line in Simón Bolívar Metropolitan Park due to a health emergency. the incident caused a temporary halt for some runners who witnessed the event.
Organizers confirmed Rodríguez suárez’s death, stating, “Colombian Roadrunches reports that during the RERALIALLY OF THE MEDIA MARATHON OF BOGOTÁ 2025 today Sunday, July 27, the participant Pedro Enrique Rodríguez Suárez, 200 meters from the finish line, suffered a breakdown of health, in the 10 -kilometer test. The health services of the race was immediately attended by timely and made their transfer in a medicalized ambulance to the San José Infantil Hospital, where he was reported deceased.”

We express our most sincere condolences to your family,loved ones and the sports community that dismisses it today.”
