Retired CIA official rebuts Gabbard’s claims about US intelligence on Russian election interference

Former intelligence official slams Tulsi gabbard’s criticism of 2017 report.

A former intelligence official has strongly refuted claims made by Tulsi Gabbard regarding a 2017 intelligence report, asserting that the report was thoroughly researched and its findings were accurate.

The official, speaking to CNN, expressed dismay at Gabbard’s characterization of the report and its conclusions. “I think it is wrong in every single way,” the official stated, warning about the implications of Gabbard’s attacks on the intelligence community‘s work.

the White House,in a statement, defended the 2017 intelligence report, labeling it a “total hoax and political witch hunt” aimed at undermining President Trump’s first term. this statement appears to contradict the former official’s defense of the report’s integrity.

The official elaborated on their concerns, suggesting that Gabbard’s stance indicates a desire for intelligence that is exclusively favorable to President Trump and the republican Party. “What Tulsi is saying is: ‘We only want to hear anything that’s pro-Trump, pro-Trump policy … pro-current Republican Party from any of our intel services, and if we hear anything that’s not that, then we’re going to come after you.’ And that’s what it feels like. And so, what analyst wants to put his or her, their name on any paper now?” the official questioned.

Emphasizing the rigor of their team’s work, the official stated,”We looked at everything, and we’re being now told that we somehow did it wrong,we didn’t have analysts involved, when three of my team were analysts. We had rigorous analytic reviews by our then-head of analysis. And it just, it doesn’t make sense to me.It just doesn’t. It really is sad.”

CNN’s Alejandra Jaramillo and Jeremy Herb contributed to this report.
