Lorenzo bonicelli, a prominent Italian gymnast, has undergone surgery after sustaining a severe neck injury during the FISU World University Games. the incident led to the withdrawal of the Italian men’s artistic gymnastics team from the event due to the emotional impact on the remaining athletes.
Prior to his injury, Bonicelli was considered a key member of Italy’s team for the upcoming 2025 World Championships, scheduled to take place in Jakarta from October 19th to 25th.
