Bulgaria’s IT Sector Sees Infrastructure Specialists Command Top Salaries, Data Reveals

Infrastructure IT specialists, encompassing roles such as Cybersecurity experts, Database Engineers, DevOps professionals, and System Administrators, are currently the highest earners within Bulgaria’s technology sector. This finding emerges from recent data compiled by the DEV.BG platform, highlighting a significant demand for thes specialized skill sets.

Though, the compensation landscape for these roles is notably diverse, reflecting a wide spectrum of experience and specialization. Minimum net salaries registered for these positions start at 2,000 BGN, while top-tier professionals can command up to 22,000 BGN.

Following closely in the salary rankings are professionals in Python advancement, Machine Learning/AI/Data Modelling, Data Science, and Backend Development. The surge in artificial intelligence has significantly boosted the earning potential in these fields,with Python developers,as an example,seeing no reported salaries below 3,500 BGN.

More traditional programming languages and platforms also maintain a strong presence. Java and .NET developers occupy the fourth position in the salary hierarchy,with maximum earnings reaching 15,000 BGN. Minimum salaries for these roles are reported at 2,000 BGN for Java and 1,250 BGN for .NET.

The market is also seeing a resurgence in demand for mobile application developers and Embedded developers. The latter group is anticipated to grow in importance as more production facilities are established within Bulgaria.

Big Data roles present an interesting salary dynamic, with a maximum earning potential of 11,900 BGN, but a remarkably high minimum salary of 10,000 BGN per month, indicating a consistently high value placed on these professionals.

At the lower end of the salary spectrum are technical support staff and front-end developers. In less experienced or specialized roles, these positions typically offer compensation around the national minimum wage.
