England, heavily favored entering the semi-final clash in Switzerland, faced a stern test from the italian side.Italy took the lead ten minutes before halftime through Barbara Bonansea, who capitalized on a swift attacking move. Despite Italy’s breakthrough, England had dominated possession and created numerous scoring opportunities throughout the match.
