Northwest Mississippi Community College Appoints Dr. Courtney McMullen as New Director of Associate Degree Nursing
Coldwater, MS – July 20, 2025 – Northwest Mississippi Community College has announced the appointment of Dr. Courtney McMullen of Coldwater as the new director of its Associate Degree Nursing program. Dr.McMullen brings a deep connection to the college, having previously served as both a student and a faculty member before assuming her current leadership position.
Dr. McMullen’s academic journey began at Northwest, where she graduated in 2007. She furthered her education at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, earning a Master of Science in Nursing Education in 2016. In 2024, she completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice with a specialization in Nursing Administration at Samford University.
“I’m truly honored to have been promoted to director of this program,” stated Dr.McMullen. “as a former non-conventional nursing student, I never imagined I would have the possibility to teach in and lead such an exceptional program. I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me, and I approach this role with a strong sense of duty and humility. It is my sincere hope to serve the program, our students, and our faculty with integrity, dedication, and respect.”
Dr. McMullen is recognized for her ongoing professional advancement and her extensive experience as a nurse and instructor at Northwest, where she is highly regarded by both students and colleagues.
