Jakarta – The family of artist Sarwendah is mourning the loss of her father, Hendrik Lo, who passed away at the age of 63. Mr. Lo died on Saturday morning, with his funeral services being held at the Grand Heaven funeral home in Pluit, north Jakarta.
Sarwendah, visibly composed, expressed her gratitude to the media and friends who gathered to pay their respects. She shared that her father had not exhibited any prior signs of illness. The sudden onset of stomach pain led to a doctor’s visit, where gallstones were diagnosed. Tragically, complications arose, leading to kidney failure, heart failure, and ultimately, respiratory failure, which rapidly progressed.
Mr.Lo had been receiving intensive medical care in the hospital for five days, having been admitted on Wednesday night. Sarwendah confirmed that her planned work trip to Korea was canceled to allow her to be with her father during his final moments, a decision that was understood and supported by her colleagues and brand partners.
A poignant detail shared by Sarwendah is the timing of her father’s passing: 8:18 AM. This specific time holds significant meaning for the family, as it coincides with her father’s birthday. Furthermore, this auspicious time was also chosen for the process of moving his body to the casket, following Feng Shui principles.
