A shocking incident unfolded in Sydney’s inner city when a car crashed and became airborne, landing in a residential backyard and tragically killing a beloved pet dog.
The vehicle, identified as a Hyundai i-30 hatchback, was observed flying over a brick wall before smashing into the yard on St Johns road in Glebe. The car came to rest just shy of the home’s kitchen.
Daniel Brenan, the homeowner, had just returned from shopping and was inside his residence when the dramatic event occurred. He recounted hearing a loud bang and seeing smoke emanating from the rear of his house.
“I just got home halfway up the stairs, and I heard crash bang, and saw smoke billowing from the back of the house,” Brenan stated. He added, “That’s quite a feat to get up over that brick wall.”
