Romanian authorities are actively searching for Emil Gânj, a man wiht a history of violent offenses, who is the primary suspect in the death of his 23-year-old former friend, Anda. Gânj’s criminal record includes a 2008 conviction for a sexual act with a minor, alongside another crime. Despite this conviction,he was released and subsequently committed another offense in 2011,resulting in a man’s death. He was granted conditional release at that time, even though his sentence was not due to expire until 2026.
The case highlights a pattern of leniency in the justice system for Gânj, who was previously given a suspended sentence after the sexual assault of a 13-year-old.This earlier conviction, which involved a minor, was met with what the original reporting describes as “clemency.” The current inquiry into Anda’s death marks another serious incident involving Gânj, who is now a fugitive from the law.
