Cairo, Egypt – The Eastern Smoke Company announced Friday a significant price hike on popular local cigarette brands, effective immediately. The increase, amounting to 5.25 Egyptian pounds per pack,follows the recent deployment of amendments to the value-added tax law for tobacco products,as published in the Official Gazette.
Ibrahim Imbabi,head of the Smoke Division of the Federation of Industries,confirmed the price adjustment for Masrawy. This move impacts a range of widely consumed brands, bringing thier consumer sale price to 44 Egyptian pounds per package.
The affected brands include:
- Cleopatra King Size
- Cleopatra Soft Queen
- Cleopatra Box
- Boston / Palmont
- The world Cup (Red, Blue, Silver)
- The World Cup switch (menthol, Blue Perry)
- Cleopatra Black Lipol
- Cleopatra Super
- Matosian Super
