Houston Dynamo FC vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC: Match Recap & Charitable Efforts

Houston Dynamo FC secured a draw against Vancouver Whitecaps FC, with both teams failing to find the back of the net. The Dynamo had several opportunities to take the lead, including a shot from Amine Bassi in the 34th minute that forced a save from the Vancouver goalkeeper.

The match saw a moment of reflection as the Dynamo team wore special jersey patches and black armbands to honor those lost in recent devastating floods. The club is auctioning these match-worn jerseys, with all proceeds directed to Central Texas flood relief efforts. Additionally, shirts sold at the stadium and online will contribute to relief funds, as will the 50/50 raffle proceeds during july matches.

This initiative follows a joint $500,000 donation made by the Dynamo,Austin FC,FC Dallas, and Major League Soccer to support ongoing relief efforts in the Texas Hill country. Fans can contribute to the Dynamo & Dash Charities‘ relief fund.

Looking ahead, Houston will host the Philadelphia Union on Saturday, July 19, at Shell Energy Stadium for “H-Town Night.” Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT.
