Queen Camilla Birthday Photo: New Image & Royal Duties Revealed

Queen Camilla Marks 78th Birthday with joyful New Portrait

A new photograph of Queen Camilla has been released to celebrate her 78th birthday on thursday. The image, captured by Chris Jackson, shows the Queen beaming as she leans against a metal gate at her private Wiltshire residence, Raymill.

In the portrait, taken earlier this month,Queen Camilla is adorned in gold drop earrings and a vibrant turquoise dress featuring a playful rainforest print with monkeys, toucans, and lemurs. Her wedding band, her five-carat emerald-cut diamond engagement ring, and a gold ring with circular plaques on her little finger are also visible.

Unlike last year, when she attended the State Opening of Parliament with King Charles III on her birthday, the Queen is expected to observe her 78th birthday privately.

The past few months have been notably busy for the royal couple. In April, they celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. As then, they have undertaken numerous high-profile engagements, including hosting French President Emmanuel Macron for a state visit last week, attending Trooping the Color in June, and visiting Canada in May for the opening of its parliament.

This week also saw the Queen visit a childrenS hospice in Devon and the nuclear-powered submarine HMS Astute in Plymouth. During her visit to HMS Astute,Commander Christopher Bate presented the Queen with a roll of cling film in a special holder as a birthday gift. Bate explained that the cling film had previously been used to repair a defect in the submarine’s main engines. “There’s nothing more useful, brilliant, how wonderful,” the Queen remarked about the practical present, which was accompanied by a plaque commemorating “Clingfilm keeping nuclear submarines at sea.”

On the same day, it was announced that Queen Camilla had been appointed Vice Admiral of the United Kingdom, acknowledging her significant support for the Royal Navy.
