Fox News Media has signed a licensing deal with teh makers of the conservative podcast “Ruthless” to expand its digital reach. The five-year deal will see the podcast operate under the Fox News Digital division and its co-hosts will also appear on the Fox News Channel. This move is part of a broader trend of conventional media outlets partnering with digital content creators to appeal to audiences who are moving away from traditional pay-TV.”Ruthless” has a important following among young men, a demographic that spends less time with traditional television. This is the first outside podcast to join fox News’s digital platforms, and similar deals may follow. Other media companies, like ESPN, have also made similar moves by incorporating popular digital programs into their television networks. Fox News’s parent company,Fox Corp., also recently acquired Red Seat Ventures, a company that supports digital content creators.
