Sweden surged ahead 2-1 shortly after equalizing, with Smilla Holmberg scoring the go-ahead goal. A key factor in this shift was Sweden’s increased success in winning duels in the midfield. Notably,this tactical adjustment occurred organically,without player substitutions or new directives from national team captain Peter Gerhardsson.
“These are the aspects we need to carry forward – that we can alter the course of a match on the pitch ourselves,” stated Kosovare Asllani.

“I still believe people recognize our strong performance.We’ve reached a high level and have scored in various ways,” said Nathalie Björn.
