Latvian football team ranked one place in FIFA rankings

Since the prior publication of the rank, Latvian footballers have played two matches in April – in June the test match was played 0: 0 (0: 0) with Azerbaijan, but in the 2026 World Cup qualifying tournament was a 1: 1 (1: 1) with Albanian national team.

From the Latvian national team opponents in the World Cup qualifiers, England, which has retained fourth place, Serbia lost one position and ranks 32nd, Albania has slipped two columns below and ranks 68th, but Andorra has lost one place and ranks 174.

The Estonian team has fallen by five seats and ranks 126, but the Lithuanian national team remained in 143.

Latvia is 47th in the European Football Federation Association (UEFA) countries, ahead of Faroe Islands, Lithuania, Moldova, Malta, Andorra, Gibraltar, Liechtenstein and San Marino.

The Latvian national team record in FIFA is 45th, which was reached in 2009. In turn, the anti -record is position 148 in 2017.

There have been no changes in the top five and the leader is still the World Cup winner Argentina, followed by the European champion Spain, the third is France, the fourth is the English, and the fifth in the fifth rank is still Brazil. From seventh to sixth place is Portugal, which overtook the Netherlands, with Belgium in eighth place, and the German team, which overtook Italy, has risen from tenth to the ninth.
