Diddy Trial: Jury Deadlocks on Racketeering Charge After Partial Verdict
Jurors in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial reached a verdict on four of the five counts against the rapper but were unable to reach a unanimous decision on the racketeering charge.
After nearly 14 hours of deliberations spread over two months, jurors informed Judge Arun Subramanian of the deadlock regarding the racketeering charge. The prosecution presented over 30 witnesses during the seven-week trial, while Diddy’s defence team opted not to call any witnesses,a strategy described by former federal prosecutor Trey Gowdy as “high stakes poker.”
