Singapore Celebrates 60 Years of Independence with $800 Vouchers for Seniors, $600 for Adults
Singapore – july 1, 2025 – in a landmark move to commemorate Singapore’s 60th year of independence, the government is rolling out SG60 vouchers worth $800 for citizens aged 60 and above, and $600 for adults between 21 and 59.This initiative, announced as part of the Budget 2025 by Prime Minister lawrence Wong, aims to recognize the contributions of all Singaporeans to the nation’s progress.
Voucher Distribution & Claim Process:
Seniors can begin claiming their vouchers today, July 1st, at go.gov.sg/sg60v starting at 10 am. Other adults will be eligible to claim their vouchers from July 22nd, also at 10 am.Unlike previous CDC vouchers issued to households, these vouchers are specifically for individual Singaporeans.
The claim process mirrors that of the CDC vouchers: claimants will receive an SMS link from “gov.sg” upon accomplished claim. A physical SG60 postcard, designed by differently abled artists and containing a QR code for voucher access, will also be mailed to each citizen.
Where to Spend & Validity:
The SG60 vouchers are widely accepted – at all businesses that currently accept CDC vouchers. Citizens have ample time to utilize the vouchers, as they are valid until December 31, 2026.
Government Investment & Community Support:
The SG60 voucher program represents a significant investment of $2.02 billion, benefiting approximately three million adults. Prime Minister Wong emphasized the vouchers are “our way of recognising the contributions of all singaporeans in our nation-building journey.”
To ensure a smooth rollout, notably for seniors, dedicated assistance will be available at community centers and clubs, as well as at SG Digital Community Hubs. For the frist two weeks, volunteers from public agencies and educational institutions will be stationed at select community centers alongside CDC ambassadors to provide on-site support.
