Inmates Relocated After Alleged Escape Plot
Authorities take action following reported plans for violent prison break.
State officials have moved a large group of inmates from Cereso number 3 after suspecting they planned to break out violently. The inmates are reportedly tied to the “Killer Artists” criminal group, who allegedly instigated disturbances last week.
Prisoners Transferred
The majority of those transferred were shifted to penal facilities number 4 in Parral and number 1 in Aquiles Serdán. The authorities believed that these individuals had planned an escape, prompting the relocation. The operation involved both the defense and the national guard.
El Santos, the leader of the group, was moved. He allegedly oversaw murders and kidnappings from the local Cereso while planning a prison riot.
“Authorities detected that there was a plan to generate violence and escape, so they decided to take actions and relocated them last night, in an operation in which the defense and national guard participated.”
