Bernal’s “Orense” alfajores, a celebrated caramel cookie, triumphed at the Argentine Alfajor championship 2025, held in Avellaneda, buenos Aires, from June 20-22. The competition showcased over 400 brands nationwide, with Orense claiming the coveted first position for industrial producers.

Thousands of attendees sampled and purchased alfajores during the three-day event, participating in the distribution of a giant “Alfajor cake” made with the champion recipe. A panel of three gastronomic specialists judged entries based on flavor, originality, texture, and ingredients.
In the industrial category, “Orense” from Bernal took first place, followed by “Chocoezza” from Mendoza in second, and “Minue” from Avellaneda in third. The artisanal category winners included “Mierum” from Temperley, “Butterqueen” from Caballito, and “Chemamull” from Los Toldos.
