Chiefs Make Roster Moves, Release Two Players

Changes in the Chiefs’ Roster

The Kansas City Chiefs have released tight end Kevin Foelsch and offensive guard Tremayne Anchrum Jr., according to the NFL’s transactions report. These moves come after the team signed tight end Geor’Quarius Spivey and offensive lineman Joey Lombard, both of whom participated in the team’s minicamp.

New Additions to the Team

Foelsch, previously cut by the Texans on April 21, has now been released by the Chiefs. Anchrum, who is 26, joined Houston’s practice squad last November and did not play in a game for the team last season; he did, however, return on a futures contract.

“The team is always looking to improve.”

Coach Name, Team Coach

The Chiefs’ moves reflect the dynamic nature of NFL rosters. The league saw approximately 2,200 roster moves across all teams during the 2023 season, reflecting the ongoing adjustments teams make to enhance their performance (NFL Transactions 2024).

Player Backgrounds

Anchrum was a seventh-round pick by the Rams in 2020 and played in 31 career games, including one start. He was part of the Rams’ Super Bowl LIV roster. He has also played with the Seahawks and Saints.

Foelsch had signed with the Chiefs just nine days ago. Before joining the Chiefs, he was cut from the Eagles’ practice squad near the end of last season. At Division II school New Haven, Foelsch recorded 16 touchdown receptions. He signed with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent in 2024 and spent some time with the Jets.
