‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Star Plans Spooky Halloween Wedding
Reality TV Bride Seeks Haunted Venue for Unique Celebration
Most brides envision a traditional wedding, but Amy Slaton, star of 1000-Lb Sisters, is planning a decidedly different affair—a Halloween-themed nuptial with a ghostly twist.
A Haunted House Reception
In the Season 7 finale, Amy and her fiancé, Brian Lovvorn, prioritized one unusual factor when searching for a wedding location: whether it was haunted. The couple is embracing a spooky aesthetic for their big day.
It’s gonna be a Haunted House on Halloween Day,
an enthusiastic Amy told the venue host, Annalisa.
The venue staff were understandably surprised. According to The Knot, the average cost of a wedding in 2024 is $35,000, but Amy and Brian appear to be prioritizing atmosphere over expense.
“In our time having a wedding venue, I’ve never had anybody ask if it was haunted so the fact that it was going to be a deal breaker was intriguing,”

Gothic Details and a Unique Ring
Beyond a haunted location, Amy also expressed interest in incorporating “a little bit of taxidermy” into the décor, adding a gothic touch to the celebration. The venue team was curious to see how the unconventional vision would materialize.
One staff member commented, It was interesting, I didn’t picture that for a wedding of course but to each their own.
Another admitted to wanting an invitation to witness the unique ceremony firsthand.
The couple’s spooky theme originated with Brian’s proposal at Henderson Haunts in Henderson, Kentucky, in October 2024.
The engagement ring itself reflects the theme: a silver band adorned with two skeleton hands forming a heart.
Relationship Timeline and Past Challenges
While planning their wedding, Amy and Brian have faced hurdles, including an arrest and concerns from family members about the speed of their relationship.
The couple first met at a concert in 2024. Amy, already a mother to sons Gage, 4, and Glenn, 2, with ex-husband Michael Halterman, is now contemplating having another child.
She and Michael were high school sweethearts who married in 2019, featured on Season 1 of the show, before separating in February 2023 and finalizing their divorce in September 2023.
