Xbox Home Screen Update: Personalization is key
Microsoft is rolling out a series of updates designed to give Xbox users greater control over their home screen experience. The updates, initially available to Xbox Insiders, focus on personalization and reducing clutter, allowing players to highlight their favorite games and streamline their dashboard.
Key Features of the Update
- pin Favorite Games: Users can now pin up to three games or apps to the recently played list. This ensures that these favorites remain easily accessible, even after launching other applications.
- Hide System Apps: This option allows users to declutter their home screen by hiding system applications, creating a cleaner and more focused interface.
- Reduce Tile Count: The “Reduce Tile Count” feature lets users customize the number of visible tiles in the recently opened games and apps list, further streamlining the home screen.
Did you know? The ability to customize your Xbox home screen has been a long-requested feature from the Xbox community. Microsoft listened!
The Drive for Personalization
The updates reflect Microsoft’s commitment to providing a more personalized user experience. We’ve heard from many of you that Home should feel more like your space,
said Eden Marie, principal software engineering lead of Xbox Experiences,on Xbox’s blog.Whether it’s surfacing your favorite games, hiding what you don’t use, or simply making Home feel less crowded, this update is a direct response to that feedback.
Rollout and Availability
The new features are initially being released to Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha users. Microsoft is still refining the “Reduce Tile Count” feature, with a wider release planned for the near future. While these updates address personalization, many users are still hoping for a solution to another common issue.
Pro Tip: To maximize the impact of these updates, take some time to curate your home screen. Pin your most-played games, hide unused system apps, and adjust the tile count to create a truly personalized experience.
The company is still tweaking the Reduce Tile Count feature, adding that it will be coming soon.
Now,if only there were a way to hide those ads on the homescreen.
