Path of Exile: Early Access Update – Respeccing & More

path of Exile 2: Upcoming Patch Targets Ascendancy Respec, endgame Tweaks, and More

Ascendancy Class Respec: A Highly Requested Feature

One of the most anticipated features is the ability to respec Ascendancy classes. The developers emphasized the importance of balancing accessibility with effort.

The implemented solution involves redoing an Ascendancy Trial, which allows players to respec their chosen Ascendancy Class at the Ascension device, provided the Trial grants the number of points they already possess.

Key requirements for respeccing include having zero points allocated in the Ascendancy class. Players can then open the Respec window at Balbala or the Trialmaster, who are located next to the Ascension device.

Ultimatum adjustments have also been made:

  • Ultimatums with 7 chambers, granting up to 4 Ascendancy points, can now be done from level 55 (down from 60).
  • Ultimatums with 10 chambers, granting up to 6 Ascendancy points, can now be done from level 65 (down from 75).

This change is expected to be deployed in the next restart patch, anticipated mid next week.

Endgame Map Adjustments

Addressing an unintentional issue, Tower and Hideout maps were not spawning rare monsters necesary for the clear condition, preventing the drop of extra maps crucial for map sustain.

The developers have responded by adding extra rares to Tower and Hideout maps, ensuring the extra map drop from the final rare kill. Completing the map does not require this.

Crafting Improvements

Several crafting changes are aimed at streamlining the rune acquisition process and enhancing minion builds.

  • As each new Rune Tier is unlocked, lower runes are removed from the drop pool to prevent an overabundance of lesser runes at higher levels. Drop rates will be adjusted to maintain a reasonable number of total runes.
  • The ability to add sockets to Scepters is being introduced, along with mods to some Talismans for Scepters, allowing upgrades to minions in the mid to late game.

Totem Survivability Enhanced

Responding to player feedback, totems will receive increased elemental resistances to improve their survivability in endgame content.

  • Totems will start gaining elemental resistances from gem level 15, scaling up to 75% at level 20.
  • The Ironwood support gem will also add Maximum elemental Resistance to totems.

Shard Scavenger Rework

The shard scavenger reservation has been reworked to provide more utility.

  • Along with it’s current effects, Shard Scavenger now restores one cooldown use for all Grenades and grants a buff for 2 seconds that prevents Crossbow Attacks from consuming bolts.

Gemcutting Tab Update

A new tab has been added to the gemcutting window to address the inconvenience of finding skills used from off-classes to level up when using an uncut skill gem.

the new tab displays all equipped gems, simplifying the leveling process.

This list represents the changes implemented so far. The developers are actively investigating further adjustments based on player feedback.
