10 years ago, Jacques BarnabĂ© created the group “Univers Brassens”. Loubressac was one of the first villages where he performed. From concert to concert, the fame of this group has grown to become today a recognized and high-quality musical ensemble. Last Friday, August 2, for the 6th time in Loubressac, Jacques BarnabĂ© and his musicians did not fail. In front of some 140 people, the concert began with “Y a de la joie” by Charles TrĂ©net, as if to counter the gloomy spirit of our times… Many of Brassens’ songs were performed brilliantly, with a pleasant and quality surprise, the arrival on stage of Pierre Moles, mayor of Bretenoux, singing with talent a song by this great artist. The singer Sarah Lazergues enchanted the audience again with an excerpt from the repertoire of Édith Piaf. Then Jacques BarnabĂ©, sometimes in a duet with Sarah, and with the talent that we know him for, covered songs by Yves Jamait, Anne Sylvestre, Alain Leprest, Hugues Aufray, Francis Cabrel, LĂ©o FerrĂ©, etc., with a repertoire that was always renewed, more than 2 hours of show, a triumph to the key and several encores. The evening was concluded by the interpretation of La Montagne by Jean Ferrat in a duet with Pierre Moles and sung by the public. It is appropriate to underline once again the talent of the musicians who accompany Jacques BarnabĂ©: Bernard Chabirand on double bass, Christian Daguet on piano and accordion, Marc Plaisant on guitar. The singer Sarah Lazergues has happily completed this musical group for 3 years now, which has become essential in the region and beyond. He will perform in Tulle on October 26, 2024, at 8:30 p.m., at the Salle de l’Auzelou, and in Alvignac on December 8, 2024, at 4:30 p.m., at the Espace Sasmayou.
