Bernie Sanders criticizes Moderna for its plan to quadruple the price of its COVID-19 vaccine

Pharmaceutical company Moderna has come under harsh criticism after announcing its plan to quadruple or fivefold the cost of its vaccine against COVID-19 once this is available on the trade market. The US government currently pays around $26 per dose. Senator Bernie Sanders criticized the measure during an interview he gave to the news network CNN this week.

Senador Bernie Sanders: “The taxpayers of this country, who provided money for the vaccine to protect the health and lives of the American people, are now creating billionaires in an industry and a company that will quadruple the prices for the American people. That is outrageous. That is unacceptable. And we have to do something about it.”
