Geneviève Pettersen’s Future with Cogeco Média Remains Undecided
Montreal, QC – August 24, 2023 – radio personality Geneviève Pettersen will not return to host the evening show on 98.5 FM at the start of the fall season. This was confirmed by Julie-Christine Gagnon, Vice-President of Programming and Communications at Cogeco Média. Mario Langlois will fill the 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM timeslot beginning next week with his program, Sports lovers.
despite the change, Cogeco Média is actively exploring options to retain Pettersen within its organization, which also includes the rhythm FM network.
“Cogeco is currently in discussions with Geneviève,” stated Gagnon. “The team highly values her contributions and is hopeful that we can continue to feature her voice on Cogeco Média platforms this fall.”
Pettersen herself offered a brief statement on Thursday, saying, “I am very excited about the projects on the horizon for me in the coming months. Discussions are underway to finalize these plans, but it is premature to share details at this time.”
Last season, Pettersen contributed to La Commission, co-hosted by Nathalie Normandeau and Luc Ferrandez on 98.5 FM. She also maintained a regular column on Lunch girls, alongside Maripier Morin and Marie-Eve January on Rhythm FM. Additionally,she appeared as a guest on Denis Lévesque’s program on 98.5 FM this summer.
98.5 FM achieved a first-place ranking in Montreal listening ratings during the spring of 2023,according to Numeris data. The station’s overall programming lineup will remain largely consistent.patrick Lagacé is scheduled to return to host the morning show on Monday, August 28th. Marie-Ève Tremblay, Luc Ferrandez, Nathalie Normandeau, and Philippe Cantin are also confirmed to return to their respective time slots at the end of the morning, midday, and drive-home periods.
