A 52-year-old man was stabbed at a hunting fair in Gussago, Italy, on Sunday, September 14th, following a dispute with another vendor. The incident occurred around midday, with witnesses reporting screams and panic as the altercation escalated to violence.
The victim, a resident of the province of Bergamo, was attacked by a 32-year-old man from the Milan area, both of whom operated food stalls at the fair. The argument reportedly stemmed from disagreements over vendor permits and the close proximity of their stalls – both businesses were operating with valid authorizations.
According to authorities, the younger man produced a knife and stabbed the 52-year-old multiple times in the chest and arms. Emergency medical services transported the victim to the Civil Hospital of Brescia in critical condition (“red code”). Doctors have stabilized the man, and while he sustained a perforated lung and cuts to a limb and head, his life is not currently in danger.
Carabinieri officers stationed at the fair for public order control promptly apprehended the 32-year-old. He has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and is being held at the Brescia prison pending further legal proceedings.
